A look into hospitality: My Pub Takeaway
At Geo, our key aim is to help; to use design and good branding to make a difference to people’s lives and their businesses.

Over the years we have gained lots of experience working alongside various businesses from all different industries. We have used this knowledge to write a series of blogs related to how we have used our experience to help and, in many cases, grow businesses, specifically in the hospitality sector. This year has been tough on all of us, the COVID-19 pandemic led to many businesses struggling and sadly a lot having to close their doors for good, particularly pubs and restaurants.
As a business we work with a lot of clients in the leisure and hospitality industry, so we realise the challenge they face during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In such a volatile market we have seen a lot of these clients buck the trend and actually seen substantial growth. Our knowledge of the industry stems from creating the entire digital presence for Elite pubs plus the brand identity of Wi5 order and pay.
Therefore, as brand development specialists we are in a unique position to be able to help other companies to build their business, find customers and develop new sources of revenue. This is an opportunity, not to profit from the situation but to develop the team’s knowledge, keep us busy, and help the local businesses to keep trading.
Pubs have had to change their approach and evolve their businesses to the new system. Many offering takeaway but without the infrastructure to advertise on their websites and some not having websites at all. We want to create a platform for pubs to advertise their menus and take orders and payments. Then use social media to lead their customers to an online system.

Unlike other takeaway platforms such as Just Eat and Deliveroo, who charge up to 30% for orders, our system is completely free. The system was designed, created, and launched within 6 weeks. It is designed to be easy for pubs to use themselves and make amendments such as, add details, images, and menus, as well as to take orders and receive payments.
Phase two which coincided with the second lockdown was to relaunch with a much simpler system. Pubs valued the online listing aspect more than the order and pay functionality. They wanted just a simple system that they could lead customers to, so our team adapted the website to a more traditional directory format.
