We never would have realised the importance of having access to online shopping or being able to get meals delivered to our doors. However, online shopping has been found to be particularly useful for the elderly as it helps to lessen the feeling of isolation.

There is the simple fact that seniors didn’t grow up with the internet, therefore they may not be as intuitive compared with those who have, but in a world where everything is changing, there is no better time to learn.

Digital industries are constantly exploring new opportunities as to how they might help vulnerable people, including elderly, do their local food shop, without putting themselves at risk. Amazon, for example, soared by 51% last year to a record £19.4bn as there was really nothing better to do than online shop!
