Introducing the New Name… GeoBrand
Deciding upon a business name can be one of the most challenging but also exciting hurdles of any new business. Should it be personal, descriptive, random or direct?

Deciding upon a business name can be one of the most challenging but also exciting hurdles of any new business. Should it be personal, descriptive, random or direct?
For us, the solution was two fold, personal AND descriptive. The time of the creation of Geo in 2009 also coincided with the birth of my half Korean nephew Joshua Geo Dicker. So ‘Geo’Media.
When the business initially launched we specialised in so many different areas of design. Media covered a lot of bases. Over the years however we have on more than one occasion become a casualty of this lack of clarity in a name. It became clear that the term Media is so broad it doesn’t sufficiently represent what we do.
Some people choose a name because it is personal. Some choose a name because it perfectly summarises what they do. There is no right or wrong answer. But in the era of optimisation, clarity of message and getting to the point, we wanted to shift towards a much clearer name.
Everything we do, whether that be design, illustration, digital or print. Everything sits beneath the banner of ‘Brand’,
As an agency we will always be Geo. But going forward there will be no mistaking what we are. That we are and always will be brand specialists.
As our Chairman Terry Hewett very eloquently puts it. GeoBrand, now does exactly what it says on the tin.
